Sun expresses the rhododendron, and light displays its jewelry.
The nearby maple glows late - afternoon yellow and casts long shadows that creep to me in fingers. I breath in while it's breathing out.
The maple shrinks. The creeping shadows are black and blue. The day is done, but I’m not.
I don’t shrink; nor am I black and blue.
But my reality was born in shadows.
