Rebecca Maloney | Visual Artist & Creative Facilitator
Rebecca Maloney (she/her) is a visual artist and creative facilitator based in West Hartford, Connecticut, whose artistic practice explores the relationship between creativity, nature, mindfulness, and personal experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Montserrat College of Art and primarily works in collage and painting.
Rebecca is particularly inspired by the unexpected beauty found in everyday and repurposed materials. Her collage work celebrates the process of discovering and reimagining found objects, textures, colors, and images, while her paintings explore the beauty and complexity of the living world and her own internal landscape.
Nature plays an important role in Rebecca's creative practice. Her garden provides an ongoing source of inspiration and observation, encouraging her to slow down and engage with the natural world through sight, sound, texture, scent, and other sensory experiences. These observations frequently find their way into her artwork, creating pieces that reflect a sense of connection, curiosity, beauty, and mindfulness.
Rebecca is also passionate about the ability of art to promote healing, self-discovery, and personal insight. As a creative facilitator, she leads workshops incorporating collage and mindfulness, creating welcoming opportunities for participants to explore their creativity, experiment with artistic expression, and connect with their own perspectives and experiences.
Through her work as both an artist and facilitator, Rebecca views creativity as more than simply producing artwork. She believes the creative process can provide a pathway toward reflection, connection, emotional expression, and a deeper appreciation of the world around us.
