The Beatles is based on a Life Magazine cover which was originally published on August 28th, 1964. The piece, which highlights the losses in the band at the time of its creation, incorporates mixed media made up of hundreds of pieces of torn paper. This technique is used due to the artist sustaining hemiparesis as a result of a stroke, which limits the use of limbs on one side of her body.
